Care3 CEO Speaks on Panel Focused on Health Equity for People of Color with Dementia

As you all know, our mission at Care3 is Healthcare Equality, a subsegment of Health Equity.

The most vulnerable members of our society including seniors, people of color, and the disabled do not have equal access to healthcare and must receive improved care in their homes. We believe that health disparities can be reduced using interactive technology connecting care professionals, patients, and families.

One of the areas most underserved by the healthcare system for people of color is dementia and Alzheimer’s treatment. Being Patient, the leading online community for Alzheimer's & dementia patients & caregivers recently invited Care3 CEO David S. Williams III to participate on a panel discussing health equity, healthcare equality, and what we can do to improve the entire system for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

From Being Patient:

In our LiveTalk series, Being Patient spoke with a panel of speakers about the challenges of accessing healthcare for underrepresented communities and strategies to reduce the barriers for the diagnosis and treatment of dementia. This panel discussion is part of Being Patient’s Diversity & Dementia series, produced with support provided by Eisai.

Speakers:

  • Arthena Caston, a member of the Alzheimer’s Association National Board of Directors who is living with Alzheimer’s.

  • Fayron Epps, principal investigator of the Faith Village Research Lab and founder of the Alter program

  • David Williams, co-founder and CEO of Care3
